what is children's church?
Teaching our children how to walk with Jesus is more than just Sunday School and going to church. We lead by example as they look up to us as their role models and care givers.
Hope Lutheran Children's Church is focused on teaching young children about Christ's salvation found in Gospel. As they grow older the lessons will become focused on catechism and then lead into confirmation into the Lutheran church. We encourage your young children to start by attending Children's Church to learn Sunday school lessons through activity. We also encourage adults to open discussion with the pastor and our church so we can begin directing you on your spiritual journey. |
Children's Church
sunday school
In Matthew 19:14 Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven."
Sunday school at Hope Lutheran is family oriented in that we believe all are God's children and must hear the word at church, whether it comes from the pulpit, lectern, or siting around a table. This is why for children we dismiss them to Sunday school at the time of the Sermon so their parents can focus on hearing the gospel message and the children can learn about Christ through activity. |
Catechism & Confirmation
Please visit Our Beliefs page for more information.
Confirmation classes are generally started around the Lenten (mid-Winter to early-Spring) season utilizing Concordia Publishing House materials. Sessions are generally before or after Sunday services and additional self-study guides are provided to encourage family engagement in the child's growth. |
